Working Bee 9th July 2011

What a cold Saturday this turned out to be, the frost on the ground at the Missions had me thinking I should have brought some cross country skis along. But the cold weather just acted as a motivation to get to work so that we could start thawing out a bit.

We had three major jobs on the agenda for the day including

- Erecting the big shade structure we used to have at Vineyard
- Spreading 5 tonnes of road base under the existing shleter to help when the area is wet
- Fencing both areas to keep cattle out and provide an area to keep out boat and trailer.

Numbers were down a bit but it was really great to see two new club members turn up help on the day to lend a hand. The work ended up taking longer than we had hoped so everyone was really tired at the end of the day but had a really great sense of achievement because of what was done. We didn't get time to complete the fencing but despite this it was a monumental effort by all concerned.
